The Memory Tree situated in Craigellachie Church was gifted to the church by the family of the late Callum Tweedie. The tree has removable leaves which can be engraved with the name of a loved one.

It is hoped that the tree will provide a suitable focus for our memories of those no longer with us.

The tree was beautifully crafted by a young coppersmith at Forsyths of Rothes.

Should you wish to have a leaf engraved with the name of a loved one please speak to our minister Rev Shuna Dicks, who will arrange for a leaf to be given to you. It is then your responsibility to have the leaf engraved. This can be done through most jewellers and at some hardware shops. The leaf, once returned, will be placed on the tree.

The Memory Tree sits in a window sill at Craigellachie Church and is on view permanently. There is also a notebook beside the tree, which keeps a record of how many leaves have been engraved and in whose memory.

Craigellachie Church is open on the first Monday of each month from 12 noon until 3pm. This is a quiet time and you may find the tree a soothing focus for your own thoughts and prayers.

BREAKING NEWS: We now have a Memory Tree in Aberlour Church too, kindly donated by the Tweedie and Thomson families. It was dedicated as part of our service of rededication on Friday 27th April 2012.

If you would like more information, or would like a leaf to take away for engraving, please speak to Rev Shuna Dicks who can be contacted on 01340 871687 or at The Manse, Mary Avenue, Aberlour, AB38 9QU
